Coon Hunting

I went coon hunting last night. It was a good time. I went with my friends Sara and Arika. We killed one 12 pounder. We went behind my house because I can't drive legally and they don't have a truck. My dog Jed is a freakin beast.

Deer Hunting

Deer season starts Friday!! Oh yeah, I love deer hunting. I'm not going to school Friday so I can get to my stand at 5:30 and sit there till about 11 or 12. Then I'm gonna go eat something and head back out at 3 so I can sit till dark. I like deer hunting almost as much as I like coon hunting, if that tells you anything.

Cold Weather

I love cold weather. Fall and Winter are my favorite times of year. They are my favorite because I hate hot weather where you sweat while you're standing. Also I like cold weather cause that means football is going on and deer and coon season happens when its cold out.

My Weekend

Friday night I went coon hunting with my friends Alex, Vince, and Sarah. We ended up getting seven coons. It was a good night. We were hunting until three in the morning, so I slept in til ten. Saturday I went to my cousins wedding and then his reception afterwards. Me and Vince left the reception at around eight thirty, nine o'clock. We went to the Flyin Inn's coonhunt and after we left, we went hunting again and only got one. Sunday I went to church and then to Barry to watch Vince's brother play basketball. After that we went back to Vince's and watched football. I left Vince's and went home and skinned two of the six coons I bought from Ethan. It was a good weekend.

Coon Hunting

I'm going coon hunting tonight! Its gonna be awesome. Hopefully we do a little better than last time we went. I think I might go to secret spot, Plot 52015 in the southwest corner or section 542356 in Pike county. Just kidding I'll probably just go behind my house and/or at my grandpa's house.

Technology

Technology has made my life better, and worse. I use it sometimes for school, so it helps me there. But I also get frustrated when I use it so that makes it worse. It also helps me stay in touch with my family and friends easier. Technology is one more way for me to spend money so it makes my life worse. It is pretty much a toss up between technology making my life worse or better.

My Wish

If I had one wish it would be that I could go to Boise State and play football. That would be my wish because I love playing football. Also, I really like Boise State's football team and their sweet blue field.

Favorite Possession

My favorite possession is probably my three wheelers. They are two different sizes, 110 and 200ES. I used to ride them all the time until they broke down. Now I'm always working on them, but they are still a lot of fun.

Election Day Importance

Election day is very important to millions of American. One reason is that they get to vote for a new president if they don't like the present one. That reason is probably the biggest reason election day is so important to Americans. Another reason is that Americans get to exercise their right to vote. Also, for Americans who aren't old enough to vote, the commercials about the candidates will probably stop, which I would enjoy very much.

America's Dependance on Foreign Oil

I think that the United States of America is very dependant of foreign oil. They could tap into our nation's oil but instead they keep buying it from the Middle East. According to the NRDC, America spends thirteen million dollars an hour on oil. That is way to much, no wonder our country is in so much debt. It is kind of hard to make money when you're paying thirteen million dollars an hour on just oil. I know there are millions of things that run on oil but that is just way to much money. If the United States weren't so dependent on foreign oil, the price would go way down.
The website www.fueleconomy.net/feg/oildep.shtml says the average vehicle uses 22.8 barrels of oil a year. Out of those 22.8 barrels, only 9 barrels are domestic oil. That means that the average vehicle uses 13.8 barrels of foreign oil a year. That is crazy. If we could use more of our domestic oil instead of foreign oil, our economy would grow because it would decrease our dependency on foreign oil and would give Americans more jobs.
One way to reduce use of foreign oil is to reduce the use of oil entirely. Scientists are coming up with was to produce energy with many different resources besides oil. I know a family that runs every vehicle the own (which is over ten) on used grease. The only two problems they have with it is in the winter it gets thick because of the temperature, and the exhaust smells like french fries, which isn't really a problem. The engine doesn't lose any horsepower and it doesn't change how much fuel it uses. If more people would do that, the dependency on foreign and domestic oil would decrease and our economy would grow.
Another way to decrease our dependency is to use more of our domestic oil. There is about 18 billion barrels of oil in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), but we aren't using any of it. Another way to obtain domestic oil is to tap into oil shale. In one major deposit of oil shale in Colorado, there are about 800 billion barrels of obtainable oil. One more location to get more domestic oil is in Alaska. This place is said to have a 10.4 billion barrels of oil, but there may be more. One last way to help decrease our dependence on foreign oil is to build more refineries. It has been 30 years since we have built a new refinery. Since we don't have the capacity to refine a lot of oil we are buying barrels of refined oil from foreign countries.
